About

LIBRARIES ARE MY PASSION.

My journey toward becoming a librarian started in 2016, when I was hired as a library associate in the Information Department at the Dorchester County Public Library in Cambridge, Maryland. During that time I honed my skills in reference services and resources to better meet our patrons' needs. In addition to learning how to conduct reference interviews, reader's advisory services, and helping to promote digital literacy in our community via computer tutorials, I also was tasked with processing materials donated to the library, as well as aided collection maintenance and development by weeding the collections.

In July of 2019, I was promoted to Head of Information by members of our Board of Trustees and Director. With this new promotion came more responsibilities: I am tasked with running the Information Department, which includes managing the departmental budget, subscriptions, cataloging, and acting as tech liaison for both branches of the Dorchester County Public Library. As Head of Information, I believe in working with my team collaboratively to achieve our library's mission to serve the public and meet their needs.

When I'm not at the library, I spend my time researching and writing about horror media, literature and film. This interest and work has led me to a variety of academic conferences, most recently the Southwest Popular/American Culture Association in Albuquerque, NM, and in April 2020 I will be presenting at the annual Popular Culture Association National Conference.
